What is The STUDIO?

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Please do bring any craft or art work that you would like. It could be knitting, painting, drawing, sewing or any other crafting things you would like. It is good to see and learn from each other. However, if you do not have something to bring, the leaders and others are happy to share and get you started on something.

What if I am not confident with making things?

Some of us are less confident in these things but that should not be a barrier to you coming along. Our motive is to be together and enjoying sharing time creating. You will not be judged!

What if I am not confident?

The group is very friendly and welcoming. Please come as you are and know that your presence is valued, even if you sit quietly.

Why does the church hold The STUDIO?

Downton Baptist Church are committed to loving and serving our community. We have received love, and it is love that we freely give.

How much does The STUDIO cost?

The STUDIO is free and there will also be refreshments served.

Where do I park?

Please use our car park at the rear of the church. Please do not use the Goat Car Park.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello to Downton Baptist Church

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When?

We meet at our Church in South Lane, Downton, for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30 am. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team and Duty Stewards.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits following our service.. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is a disabled toilets.

Our Service

The Sunday Morning Worship service begins at 10.30 am with a warm welcome.
During the service there will be a time of sung worship, led by our band. There will then follow readings from the bible and a talk about what we have heard. There will be times of prayer.
Please ask if this is new for you and would like some support.

We are pleased to say we have a programme for our young people and everyone is welcome.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At an appropriate moment, the young people will be asked to go their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.
