Gathering for Worship

We will  continue to review all of our decisions in light of events and developments locally and in the wider country.

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism;  one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.         Ephesians 4:1-5

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello to Downton Baptist Church

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When?

We meet at our Church in South Lane, Downton, for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30 am. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team and Duty Stewards.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits following our service.. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is a disabled toilets.

Our Service

The Sunday Morning Worship service begins at 10.30 am with a warm welcome.
During the service there will be a time of sung worship, led by our band.  There will then follow readings from the bible and a talk about what we have heard.  There will be times of prayer.
Please ask if this is new for you and would like some support.

We are pleased to say we have a programme for our young people and everyone is welcome.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At an appropriate moment,  the young people will be asked to go their various groups.  You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.
