Youth work

Youth Church on Sunday

Youth Church

Is an informal session for secondary school aged young people. We have relaxed discussion or activities across a range of faith based subjects.

Recent topics have included:

  • Jesus and justice, taking a look at some of the amazing things Jesus said and did, writing blessings tied to helium balloons
  • Discussing aspects of life with God by making giant ice cream sundaes of life

We're a friendly bunch!

Youth Groups in the week

LINKS for year 7 to 11.

Monday evening from 7pm to 8.30pm

Links is a weekly youth club for secondary school aged young people, supported by Downton Churches Together.
It offers young people from different schools a chance to come together on a Monday evening for chilling out, friendship, music, pool, table tennis, drumming…the list is very long, and ends with the most popular activity of all - plenty of goodies from the tuck shop.

Everyone is very welcome.

For more information please contact the church office - HERE.

Team Spirit

Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Team Spirit is a mid-week faith-based group for secondary school aged young people. They write their own programme and we aim to have a mix of social, creative and Bible based activities, as part of an informal evening including a meal.

Please get in touch if you'd like to join in.

Safeguarding

Downton Baptist Church is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Our safe to grow statement is: As members of this church, we commit ourselves to the nurturing, protecting and safekeeping of all, especially children and young people, as laid out in our Policy Statement. We ask all members to be vigilant for the safety of our children in the building at all times, especially on a Sunday morning.

The safeguarding policy is under regular review and is displayed on the notice board in the foyer.  All those leading work with children and vulnerable adults have a DBS check.
